I sometimes make note of an idea or topic, intending to later develop it into a full blown blog article and that just doesn’t happen for one reason or another. Following are some such “snippets,” in no particular order of importance or preference, for your reading pleasure and rumination:
>> MSNBC Host — Should the media use the term “illegal immigrants”?
One of the hosts on MSNBC, or what I like to call MSLSD, because some of those people over there definitely seem as if they’re “on” something, recently raised the (faux) issue of whether “illegal immigrants” is a viable term for use in the media and other discussions about immigration.
So, should the media use the term “illegal immigrant”? Well, first of all, the technically correct term (in accordance with the law) is “illegal alien,” so that would be my first choice.
But, if you’re not going to use that, then certainly you should use “illegal immigrant.” The liberals’ “undocumented worker” is ridiculous because not all illegal immigrants work. Some are simply criminals and others, especially in this Obama economy, can’t find work even it they want it, just like millions of Americans.
Obfuscations and euphemisms don’t change the real facts — they just try and make them sound nicer. Illegal is still illegal.
Our unemployment rate has inched down — finally. But so has our GDP. After some 40-plus months over 8 percent, unemployment has finally broken the 8 percent barrier. But why? Well, because the number of people in the work force is at an all time low, so they aren’t even counted in the unemployment figures any more. More people have simply given up even looking for a job in the Obama economy than at any time in recent history. If they were still counted in the unemployment figures, unemployment would be close to 11 percent, and for blacks and college students even worse than that.
But then, Obama certainly needed something after his abysmal debate performance, so this helps him a little, and I’m sure his adoring and compliant media will make as much of it for him as they can. However, a change of three tenths of one percent, from 8.1 to 7.8, does not a trend make and really isn’t an indicator of the economy now suddenly moving in the right direction, nor that Obama’s policies are working. Remember, all it takes is for the end of October unemployment rate to inch back up right before the election, which it well could, and that will be equally bad for Obama.
>> Obama’s White House and Hillary’s State Department At Odds
The race is now on to see who can distance themselves more quickly from the fake narrative that the Benghazi attack was caused by a little-seen video on YouTube and that there was a big demonstration before the attack, when we now know, mainly through the excellent and early reporting of Fox News, and especially of Catherine Herridge and Bret Baier, neither was the case.
It will be fun to see which is more successful at throwing the other under the bus, Hillary or Barack, the former to save her chances to run in 2016 and the latter to save his reelection this year.
I said at the time of Obama’s brief 9/12 Rose Garden appearance (because of course he couldn’t be bothered to answer that 3AM phone call), with Hillary at his side and before rushing off to a Vegas fundraiser, that I wondered if she was there as support or to take part, or all, of the blame later. Guess we’ll see.
>> ABC’s “Bombshell,” “Breaking” News
On October 10, ABC News reported that there was no large demonstration outside the Benghazi consulate, as the Obama Admin have been telling us for so long, and ABC claimed that was “breaking news.”
Wait, ABC “bombshell”? “Breaking news”? Are you KIDDING me? ABC’s just DAYS BEHIND Fox News on its conclusions AND its so-called “breaking” news, that’s all.
Fox News reported most of this stuff within days of the attack, not now almost a MONTH later. Maybe for one of the liberal alphabet networks, where they drink the liberal Kool-Aid and keep their heads in the sand, especially on anything critical of their Golden Boy Obama, it’s a bombshell and breaking news, but otherwise, please, gimme a break!
Fox News’ Special Report even had an actual timeline of video clips of Team Obama officials on last night which glaringly illustrated how Team Obama serially lied over more than a 2-week period about the video, the demonstration, the attack and what they knew and when.
So much has leaked out now, which shows that the Obama Admin lied and covered up, that ABC’s just trying to play catch up and save some face. Too late, your credibility’s already shot, along with the other alphabet networks and liberal lamesteam media.
>> Debate Prep
If Obama-Biden are so “smart” and Biden’s so “experienced,” why did Biden have to spend almost a WHOLE, SOLID WEEK in debate prep? Oh, that’s right, it’s now his job to stop the bleeding in poll numbers Obama’s abysmal debate performance started AND Biden has to try and learn all that math, which Obama had the nerve to mention during his debate (when Team Obama is so well known for its own fuzzy math), that Ryan already knows backwards and forwards.
By the way, did you realize another way to look at Romney’s victory over Obama in the first debate was that it wiped out about $100 million in Team Obama negative campaign ads for months, and all in less than 90 minutes?
C’mon, Team Obama, spend some more of your campaign money on ads which Ryan will now also totally discredit.
>> Defending Big Bird
So, number one, Big Bird is even richer than Mitt Romney, so I think Big Bird will be just fine without our tax dollars, and, number two, Big Bird (or at least the Sesame Workshop) has asked Team Obama to stop using Big Bird in their ridiculous attack ads against Romney.
Obama’s economy is stuck in neutral, Americans are out of work, Obama’s reset relations, apology and appeasement and soft power foreign policy is in disarray all across the Muslim world and what Obama wants to harp on is taking up for Big Bird?
What, does Team Obama think 5-year-olds vote? Or is it that they know most of their voting base is childish? This guy’s so arrogant he’s not even trying to be a serious candidate for reelection.
>> Doctor’s View of ObamaCare
She’s a former nun, an Army major, a lawyer, a college professor and a physician. Now Dr. Barbara Bellar wants to be a state senator from Illinois (you know, like you-know-who once was) , and she has one question about ObamaCare.
“We are going to be gifted with a health care plan that we are forced to purchase, and fined if we don’t, signed by a president who smokes, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn’t pay his taxes, by a government which has already bankrupted Social Security and Medicare, all to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that’s broke. What the blank could possibly go wrong?”
I’m so inspired I almost want to move to Illinois, just so I can vote for her. Good luck, Doctor, good luck.
